Moon 854 is soon to be history . . .
It's the Brian Wizard, "Me, Myself, and I" Humming Blade Band.
Flute is one instrument I play and another is the Humming Blade. I produce these little beauties in the three different models. You might want to click the Humming Blade link on my Product's menu and have a look-see at what I have going on. That page is also a work in progress in regards to my learning how to manipulate my own website. It ain't easy, I don't like doing this, all the how-to details are very hard to remember. Me, I'm old school in the sense that if I want something made I use my hands to bend, hammer, twist, mold, and physically persuade the material world into the shape I want. Typing is about as much computer savviness that I care to know, yet, here I am trying to master something as simple as an article. I don't think I'll last long at this. The sun is shinning, the temperature is climbing, and I'm sitting inside tapping out senseless chatter no one will read. Idiot that I am. I have 13 books to backup my claim to being an idiot. Spending precious time and money on a nigh onto dead art form. No, I take that back, the art of writing is alive and well, its the art of reading for entertainment that is dead. Dead in the head of a large percent of the masses who are too lazy and dumbed down to read a story, good or bad, as they are too busy watching some silly sit-com on TV, or playing some childish video game, or passed out from too much alcohol or drugs. The poor buggers.
The gist of this missive is, my Moon 854 is almost dead. It has been a hard moon to live under. It started with the failed but successful road trip. I went to Reno, merged myself with the city lifestyle, most of which I describe at the end of the last paragraph, and saw that there is no way I needed to spend any time trying to sell them a copy of my latest novel, so I turned tail and went home. Good call, as everywhere else I was headed had one kind of sickness or another laying in wait for me: stomach or head flu. My Gawd is great for steering me in the right direction: home to my wilderness paradise.
I learned a lot in my short time out. First, the people were a bit scary in looks and actions. I came home thinking I must be prejudice, a bigot of some sort. Nah, to be predudice or bigotted one must first actually like some people. I can't say I like many if any people until they prove to me they are friendly and worthy of my attention. I do think I should accept the new face of America, which looks nothing like mine. Next time out, I will do better, not suffer from culture shock in my own country, but most likely I will go to a foreign country so two things will happen that will make me feel comfortable: I will be the foreigner in a foreign land and culture. See the inner turmoil the trip caused? I'm working on making myself the better person, more acceptable of a difference in the people I come in contact with. "All people are created equal." Sad that it appears that most of all appear to be created somewhat dim in the intelligence department. Here's an example: aspiring to make minimum wage in a dead end job, training for a career that offers few jobs, if aspiring to become or learning anything. Here's my saving grace, their approach appears more intelligent that spending years writing a story that 99% of the people won't read because the don't know how to read for entertainment. Who is the true idiot? Me, for exercising intelligence and creative talent for naught.
Coming home allowed me to do some of that physical labor I spoke of earlier. I installed gutters on two roof that will put the runoff into an 800 gallon tank. Nice. I trimmed and cleaned up an acre of thickly overgrown forest as a fire break. I played heaps of music, danced, and sang.
Of course, the ending of Moon 854 has good news coming, the beginning of Moon 855. Mostly, the last quarter of a moon shows signs of what is it come. I have opened the can of art titled Humming Blade production, a big project that will take three months to complete, I'm sure. We'll see. I'll end up with 50 Humming Blades, mounts, and accessories for sale. (More idiocy at work) I also have a clear plan for more forest trimming to recreate a park-like setting around me as I create a fire break beneath the new growth of forest to my north. I will have rain catching gutters and a tank being filled, if ever it rains again. I have also started the overdo process of extracting a bad tooth and replacing it with a prostetic. Moon 855 should be more hands-on, more fun, warmer, sunnier, and a full body workout. I sit and wait, only hours to go. I'll keep you posted on how that works out for me and the world around me, which includes you.
When reading for entertainment others see you are sitting still and doing nothing. In reality, the reader stares at wood and ink on the outside, but is hallucinating a detailed story on the inside, stimulating brain chemicals and exercising the imagination.
This is me five year ago, for those that don't know. Yup, I'm a knife and gun toting musician. I have a flute and I'm not afraid to use it. I am also a concealed handgun instructor, and licensed nationally to teach, and to carry in the 34 intelligent states that understand the value of the trained and responsible people carrying concealed handguns in order to be legal, safe, and protected.
I am writing these first few missives, never to be called 'blogs' again as I don't like the word, presumming most people reading them don't know me, haven't met me, nor have they read much of my work.
It being Easter today, just for fun, go to the Free Store on my home page and read the short story: What Would Jesus Do? It has a happy ending. It also reveals my imagination, and writing style. Remember I'm an American Fiction Writer and I can and will make things up as I please, standing firmly on my First Amendment right to do so.
I have a goal and it is a simple one, to sell 10 million eBooks and soon. Right now I have 8 ebooks ready for downloading. Soon it will grow to 10. I like ebooks, especially for the international market, as there is no postage and handling, delivery is immediate, and they are inexpensive compared to a paperback, as well as tree savers. In today's handheld electronic devices, ebooks are great, espescially for the travler as they are easy to pack around, and I have them for all the formats. If you have a format different that what I offer let me know and I'll convert the story(ies) you want to that format.
Well, I won't convert them, the web-workers will. There is little I like about working on my website, it's out of my element actually. I will write these missives now and again, and after I get done with a few introducary notes, and learn how to do it fast and easy, I will try to make them fun, interesting, and . . . more fun. I'll add links to some of my music and videos.
If you visit the NEW Sculpture link on my Home Page Menu, on the left, you'll see one of my bronze pieces: momma humpback whale and her baby. I was in a kayak off the Big Island in Hawaii when two humpbacks such as this came right up beside me. Since I didn't have a camera, I carved the memory in a stone, literally, and reproduced the image from the stone to bronze. I have a lot of artworks in various medium to display, and SELL. Yes, this is an interactive website.
In the next missive, I will attempt to provide a discount code for one or more books, paperback or ebook.
Cheers,
PS: I'm getting the hang of this, I think.
The above photograph is my most famous photograph. It was snapped by Thunderbird Crew Chief Dave Norton back in 1969, in Viet Nam, during the war. I’m holding my M60 machine gun, as I was a permanent crewmember of the prestigious Thunderbird Smokeship, Pollution IV.
By the way, today is National Viet Nam Veteran Appreciation Day. The best support this veteran receives is beyond words, it is a purchase of any of my VN War related books or DVD, found at: www.brianwizard.com. Until the discount ends, for any product type in coupon/discount code . . . veteran . . . at checkout and you’ll get $5 off.
This blog is about me, the things I have done, do, and might do, as well as the artworks I create, the way I live, work, and play. My writing in this blog may be deep, shallow, in jest, or absolutely serious.
I have my Gawd and my ways of how I believe this material plain is setup. For example, the A-number-one rule of this material world is: Structure governs function. The question to ask whenever there is doubt as to the logic of what you could, should, or might try regarding any structural question is answered by proving that the design creates the appropriate function. Take the elbow. It’s structure only bends one way. When bent in the inappropriate direction there is always pain for the owner of the elbow. Round always rolls. Cubes, they slide, tumble, or spin on a corner, and never roll.
My Gawd is mine. I don’t care about yours, especially if what you believe is based not on your contact with your idea of god, but someone else’s ideas about their god. If it is written in a book, then it is a false god, as the last thing my Gawd would do is write me a note. You can have any god you want as long as your belief doesn’t hurt anyone. If your concept of god hurts someone, I might step up and intervene.
The concept of a Heaven and Hell existing beyond this life in the material plain is dim. Both environments are right here, right now, as this is when we have what it takes to feel pain, discomfort, suffering, as well as joy, pleasure, and all the rest of the good stuff. The Heavens or Hells are in this world and can always be traced back to a decision we made. There are times when outside influences take away our independent thought and actions, like the power of the moon and other celestial bodies that can reach out and touch our chemical makeup. The moon moves the oceans daily, and our bodies are 89% chemical laced water, so it moves as well.
I personally like to break my life up into moon cycles, the way they did back in the beginning when it was reported people lived 900 years. No. Not years, moon cycles. There is one thing we can watch happen daily, moon cycles. The concept of years did not exist during the writing of Genesis.
Today, March 31st, I am living under my 854th moon since birth. I am 24,023 post-womb days old as I type.
This blog will run from moon cycle to moon cycle. Twenty-eight days in each cycle might give me four posts, one a week. No promises on that. As a cycle moves through its phases, I’ll be noting things like, Featured Book of the Cycle, Astrological influences of the Cycle, Cycle Fun, Cycle Business, Moon influences. Artworks of the Cycle (previously made and on display for sale, and works in progress) and a bit on my eccentric lifestyle.
I live way out in the way-out, off the grid, and am part of the animal kingdom around me. I love to photograph the animals in their natural habitat, as well as moon/sun rises/sets.
Now you have an idea of what this blog will be, but it is truly up to my mood of the moment. I actually have no idea what will come out of this exercise. Come back any time.
Cheers,
